Justin Blackwell - CoFounder, Owner, & General Contractor
I began my career as a teenager working full time in finish carpentry and building stage sets for local community theaters, including Omaha Community Playhouse. As Chief Technical Director, I led multiple departments through the fabrication and installation of my own designs.
I later moved into fabrication and engineering at Heartland Scenic Studios, contributing to high-profile museum installations, including projects for the Discovery Children’s Museum in Las Vegas and the American Museum of Natural History in New York.
Today, I bring that same technical depth to Blackwell Innovations through general contracting, construction management, structural design, and project logistics. My background allows our company to see beyond the finish selections: anticipating structural challenges, coordinating complex details, and guiding projects from early concept through completion.
Outside of client work, he continues to pursue woodworking and custom fabrication, bringing the same respect for craftsmanship to every piece he creates.
Ella Hubbard - CoFounder, Designer, & Office Manager
My career began in the electrical trade, where I gained a firsthand understanding of the systems, structure, and practical demands behind a well-executed renovation. From there, I expanded into design technology and project planning, bridging technical construction knowledge with the visual and functional decisions that shape a home.
Today, I serve as the interior designer and office manager for Blackwell Innovations, translating homeowners’ ideas into cohesive, buildable plans while coordinating the details that keep each project moving smoothly. My role connects design, communication, and operations—helping clients make confident decisions from the first conversation through the final walkthrough.
