We're on a mission to revolutionize the construction industry, fueled by our belief that "the impossible" simply does not exist.
I began my career as a teen – as a full-time finish carpenter, building stage sets for local community theaters, most notably Omaha Community Playhouse, the largest traveling theater in the world. As Chief Technical Director, I led multiple departments in the production of my own designs. After graduating from the world of theater, I began a fabrication and engineering career at Heartland Scenic Studios, where I contributed to high-profile installations in museums such as the Discovery Children’s Museum in Las Vegas and The Natural History Museum in New York. Alongside this, I took on the crucial role of Rigging Inspector, ensuring safety standards in schools across the Midwest.

This commitment was ingrained early on when I achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America at the age of 15. Since then, I’ve actively contributed to various volunteering initiatives, including Habitat for Humanity, where I participated in home remodeling projects. These experiences, amongst personal struggles, have instilled in me a profound commitment to giving back. Through 19 years and counting of volunteerism, we hope to continue to use our name to do good things. Community service isn’t just what I do; it’s who I am. What is the typical process and timeline for design, planning, and construction?
Our process includes an initial consultation, concept development, detailed design, project itemization & budget finalization, and pre-construction preparation. The scope of this process is customized for each project and the timeline is adjusted to represent that. We do our best to communicate a specific timeline clearly to our clients for every project we take on.
How do I know if my project will require further planning or design?
We will discuss this with you at your initial estimate, and discuss options based on what you are looking for, and what is necessary to complete the project.
How long will my remodeling project take from start to finish?
Project timelines vary depending on scope and complexity. We do our best to provide a detailed timeline during the planning phase and work with your needs and schedule to adjust. We strive to complete all projects efficiently, big or small, without compromising quality. While our initial concept development and design requires more time upfront, by tackling any potential challenges head on, we are able to save on time and costs in the long run.
Will I need to move out during the remodel?
This depends on the project scope, but is very rarely required. We aim to minimize disruption to your daily lives and will discuss any necessary temporary relocation during the planning phase.
How do you minimize disruption to our daily lives during construction?
In addition to working around you and your schedule, we maintain a clean, organized work environment every day in order to prevent the spread of dust or dirt. We offer a complimentary lockbox service that allows you to continue your workday uninterrupted as we complete your project.
How do you handle unexpected issues or changes during the project?
We pride ourselves on clear communication. Any unexpected issues are promptly addressed, and we work collaboratively with clients to find solutions that align with the project goals and budget.
Do I need to obtain permits? If so, do you handle that process?
Yes, we handle all necessary permitting as part of our comprehensive service. This will be discussed with you during the planning and design phase, and is based on the requirements of the County that you reside in.
How do you determine and stick to the budget? Are there ways to reduce costs?
We provide detailed cost breakdowns and transparent pricing. We can suggest cost-saving alternatives in terms of material selection or finish without compromising quality, if needed.
What are your payment terms and schedule?
We typically use a milestone-based payment schedule, which is outlined clearly in our contract, as well as tailored to your project within your proposal. We require a 30% deposit in order to schedule any work.
How do you select materials and finishes? Can I provide my own materials?
We work collaboratively with clients to select materials and finishes that match their vision and budget. Oftentimes we are able to get a discount on materials due to our licensing and open accounts with suppliers across Chattanooga. You’re welcome to provide your own materials, which we can discuss during the planning phase.
How do you ensure quality control throughout the remodeling process?
Our team conducts regular quality checks, and all aspects of work are overseen consistently to ensure high quality results that exceed your expectations.
What kind of warranty do you offer on your work?
We stand behind our craftsmanship with a comprehensive 2 year warranty on all labor. Specific details are provided in our contract.
How do you handle cleanup and debris removal during and after the project?
Daily cleanup is an important part of our standard procedure. We stress to our clients, subs, and employees that cleaning before, during, and after any portion of the project is necessary to achieve job-safety standards and maintain work efficiency, as well as reduce our impact to your daily lifestyle. We ensure a consistent cleanup throughout the project and a thorough debris removal upon project completion. For certain projects, we will bring a professional cleaner to the jobsite once we are finished.
How often will we receive updates on the project's progress?
We prioritize clear, consistent communication throughout the project, providing regular updates on progress and any changes as they occur.
What should I do to prepare my home before the remodel begins?
We’ll provide a detailed pre-construction checklist tailored to your project, ensuring you’re fully prepared for the remodel to begin.
